We started the day with what we thought was a short hike through some dunes to the Atlantic where we would see some of the “dune shacks”…well, it would have been short if we hadn’t zigged when we should have zagged and went up and down a couple of extra dunes in very soft sand which was difficult to walk in. The end result was worth it, we saw a couple of dune shacks and we sat on the beach and watched a handful of seals float about 20-30 feet away as they were keenly watching us. That is until a wave washed ashore shortly after the one in the video below after which Chris said, “are you ready to move” and I answered “yeah”. Well, I guess I wasn’t. A wave shot up the shore and in my panic to get up somehow my phone wound up in the sand and then shortly after it was under water. No worries, I’m writing this post on my phone, thankfully the water resistance passed the test :).
