XLB, Portland

We had pondered staying in and cooking since we’ve eaten out for the past 7 days exclusively except for 2 breakfasts but there is so much good food to be had in Portland we bit the bullet and uber’d out to XLB.

We had a healthy lunch so a couple of sharing options could’ve been enough but…the entire menu looked so good we had to try a more than a few things..and it was happy hour 😝.

These are the xiao long bao, the restaurants namesake – XLB. Pork, ginger, garlic, chive and pork stock, sealed up soooo deliciously. Follow the instructions below and expect nothing but yumminess, don’t follow the instructions and expect to have a soup explosion all over your shirt.

Roasted pork belly, crispy…enough said.

Chicken and cabbage dumplings in a hot pepper paste sauce, maybe the best dumpling ever.

Bao and beer, 2 bao and a beer for $9….yes please! We each had a pork and cabbage and mushroom and chive.

Shanghai pork and shrimp noodles, perfectly cooked. After all that I saw a bok choy with oyster sauce go by so had to have some….wasn’t focused to snap a picture, it was good πŸ˜‹.
