Parliament of Canada, Centre Block, the building is closed for approximately the next 10 years to the public as it is undergoes renovations.
We did a tour of the West Block, pretty interesting to see and be on the floor of the house of commons in its temporary location for the next 10 years :).
East Block, also undergoing renovations but was open for tours.
Some pre Confederation offices dating to the mid 1860’s. Some original furniture that has been set as it would have been originally. The original Cabinet room from Sir John A. Macdonald has seating for 13. Our tour guide was a History student from Montreal, probably the best guide of the 3 tours we took “on the hill”.
With the renovations on Parliament Hill the Senate has been moved to Union Station. Reminiscent of Union Station in New York City, our tour guide mentioned the architect worked on both but I could not find any information to confirm. This tour guide was by far the least knowledgeable, my fact checking confirms :).
