The drive out of Chicago was pretty good considering how bad the traffic was when we arrived. We got to Detroit almost as planned, about a half hour behind because of a few unexpected (bathroom) stops. Shocker! When we arrived parking was a bit of a challenge but we managed to find a spot not to far from our Airbnb so we could get checked in, unload and then move to the lot where we’d leave the car (his name is Murray, Murray the Murano) for the remainder of our stay. Upon reaching out to our host, who was meeting us at the apartment to let us in, we found out the elevator was not working but they were trying to fix it. We are in apartment 507…yes on the fifth floor. The elevator is still not fixed, we saw the repair man leaving and he was hoping to get a part in the morning and be back to fix it. So, six trips up and down we are unloaded, fed and watered and unwinding before bed. Our host was very understanding and gave us a partial refund, another reason why Airbnb is so great. I doubt a hotel with the same issue would have done the same thing. Fingers crossed the elevator will be working when we leave on Thursday.
