We started the drive from Detroit with the Detroit-Windsor tunnel and going through customs took all of 2 minutes. It was early in the day but you never know what you are going to get. I guess the border agent was still waking up, she asked how long we had been in the US and what we brought back, then we were on our way. As soon as we exited customs it didn’t take long to get on the 401 and let me tell you, the 401 sucks. Construction, traffic…ugh..I would loathe having to use it daily if we lived here. The only good thing is the ONroute rest areas. They are fairly frequent and all had a gas station, convenience store, Tim Hortons, A&W and KFC. We’re looking forward to the downtime from touristing for 5 days here, about a 1/2 block from Lake Simcoe. Hoping to BBQ (we really miss our BBQ, this is only the second Airbnb so far with one), ride and maybe get some beach time in.
