We left the crashing waves of Virginia Beach to a 4.5 hour drive to Wilmington. We are overlooking the Cape Fear River, like the movie! Hopefully not as scary 😉. The drive was uneventful, we saw our first ever cotton fields, it looks just like cotton…who’da thunk! Also, at one of our rest stops along the way there were stuffed goats in a glass case in the convenience store beside the Dunkin Donuts….why? Road kill, the owner is a budding taxidermist??
