museum of flight, Seattle

Twenty minutes from the Airbnb, we had initially thought we’d go here as it was by the Boeing factory which we wanted to do as well. Well, when we were driving in we saw signs for Boeing field and museum of flight and just assumed the factory was here as well…it’s not..it’s on the other side of town. We still did both but not on the same day as planned. We couldn’t take any pictures inside the Boeing factory so I don’t have a post to write as it’s no fun without pics. It was pretty cool, it’s the biggest building by volume in the world and we saw the first 777 X, they aren’t flying yet but are the next big thing in passenger air travel. The museum is pretty impressive, you can go inside a lot of the planes, we went on a Concorde, the first Air Force One Jet, the first 747 and a 787 dreamliner among others. They have planes from the beginning of aviation, Bill Boeing who was the founder of Boeing was from the area, and also have a space exhibit that was the result of a donation by someone who has too much money. He went to space twice as a self paid passenger, bought and donated the capsule he rode back to earth in. A few pics from our visit.

“Big Stud” my favourite of the day lol
Soyuz Capsule, could see the burn marks from re-entry into the earths atmosphere.

very very cool! Did you take a nice big dump in the presidential toilet? hahahaha No Avro Arrow, but Boeing did steal the majority of those employees from Canada when that program was cancelled. Which reminds me to visit that local museum in Calgary. Great post, thanks for sharing!
