After the car was loaded this morning we thought it’d be a great idea to walk to Haystack Rock, remember, the one from goonies outside our room, in the driving rain, on the beach. Well, not such a great idea…our drive was a little soggy but…there really are no bad days. It’s so cliche but we totally get it. The drive to Portland direct was under 2 hours so we decided to go a little out of the way to Astoria. It’s a cute little town, we drove by the Astoria column and had a yum lunch at T Pauls urban cafe…not sure who T Paul is but they have 2 restaurants in Astoria. If you’re ever through it’s worth a stop. An hour and a half ish later, there was an accident on the freeway, here we are in Portland ready to eat our way through the city…it’s a good thing we only have 4 days here 😉. We’re off to get the staples and then gonna check out one of Janet’s recommendations, XLB (it’s all day happy hour on Mondays!).
