we are here, Quebec City

A quick 2.5 hour jaunt to Quebec City from Montreal.  Our last day in Montreal was spent in a clinic, after it seemed like both of us fought off a cold it resurfaced for me as a nasal infection.  it’s been about 2 weeks of not feeling so good but the antibiotics are taking affect and starting to work their magic.  It was a bit of a struggle finding a walk in clinic to “walk in” on the same day.  Almost all clinics in Montreal use a service called bonjour sante for phone and online booking.  Appointments are released the night before and when they fill they no longer accept walk ins.  To use the online service you need to have a provincial insurance card so I tried calling a few directly and was told we don’t have any more walk ins today, book online for tomorrow…ugh.  Like in Alberta they have nurses available to phone, not sure what the number in AB is but it is 811 in QC.  I wish I would have started there as the nurse I spoke to was patient and pointed me in the exact direction I needed to go in.  There are a few clinics where you don’t need an appointment and can actually walk in, because there are so few it was pretty busy..5 hours and $80 later for the consultation we had prescriptions and were on our way to the pharmacy :).  Not feeling well while travelling is not much fun, there was so much we didn’t do in Montreal because it was too hot for the first week and then we weren’t feeling well for almost the remainder of our time there.  Hopefully we’ll be able to get out and enjoy Quebec City a little more :).

I was in QC just a week ahead of you. Hot and humid is right. My girlfriend and I stayed at a small hotel in the old city, and I stood exactly where you did to take pictures of those horses. We watched the changing of the guard and had great meals. No poutine for me tho!!!
