whitney plantation, NOLA

About an hour drive from the Airbnb, telling the story of the enslaved rather than, like every other plantation, the story of the rich white owner. We highly recommend you go if in NOLA. I found this story in the NY Times and made a PDF copy so you could read it on a mobile device. It’s long but a good read and will better explain the pictures and story of the plantation than I ever could.

The only 2 original cabins of the enslaved on the plantation, dating back to the 1790’s.
