we are here, Phoenix, Arizona

This was our last long drive for awhile, long in our eyes anyway, at about 7 hours. We went from about 0 Celsius in Albuquerque to 22 in Phoenix, snow at 6000 feet and then as we descended to about 1000 feet we’ve never seen so many cactus. They lined the highway and mountainside almost like pine trees back home. The drive really had some oohs and ahhhs, reminded us of the Rocky Mountains and parts of the Cabot trail (minus the ocean of course). We’d never have done this drive if we weren’t trekking around the US and are thankful we’re able to. Here’s some pics from the drive, we took a lot more, I wish the windshield was cleaner so the pics would’ve turned out better 🤷‍♂️. We were again greeted by another beautiful sunset at the hotel.

Looks like they had to plow in parts
The rock formations in New Mexico and Arizona are amazing
